How to Use Trust Wallet: Complete Mobile Guide
Trust Wallet is one of the most popular mobile cryptocurrency wallets, supporting millions of assets across dozens of blockchains. This guide by IAMUVIN covers everything you need to know about using Trust Wallet effectively.
Why Trust Wallet?

|---|---|
| Supported Chains | 70+ blockchains |
| Supported Assets | Millions of tokens |
| Cost | Free |
| DApp Browser | Built-in (Android), WalletConnect (iOS) |

Step 1: Download and Install
- Open Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS)
- Search "Trust Wallet" — verify developer is "Trust Wallet"
- Tap Install/Get
- Open the app once installed
Warning: Only download from official app stores. Fake Trust Wallet apps exist and will steal your funds.
Step 2: Create a New Wallet
- Open Trust Wallet and tap "Create a New Wallet"
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Set up a passcode (6-digit PIN)
- Enable biometric security (fingerprint or Face ID)
- The app generates your 12-word recovery phrase
- Write it down on paper — not digitally, not a screenshot
- Confirm by tapping the words in correct order
Step 3: Navigate the Interface
- Wallet tab: Your asset balances and portfolio value
- DApps tab: Access decentralized applications (DEXs, NFT markets, DeFi)
- Swap tab: Built-in token exchange
- Activity tab: Transaction history
- Settings: Security, wallets, preferences
Step 4: Add Tokens and Coins
Trust Wallet supports thousands of tokens, but not all are visible by default:
- Tap the toggle icon (top right on Wallet tab)
- Search for the token you want to add
- Toggle it on to display in your wallet
- If not listed, tap "Add Custom Token" and enter the contract address
Step 5: Receive Crypto
- Tap on the cryptocurrency you want to receive
- Tap Receive
- Copy the address or share the QR code with the sender
- Make sure the sender uses the correct network
Step 6: Send Crypto
- Tap on the cryptocurrency you want to send
- Tap Send
- Paste the recipient's address or scan their QR code
- Enter the amount
- Review the network fee
- Confirm with your PIN or biometrics
Step 7: Swap Tokens
Trust Wallet has a built-in DEX aggregator:
- Tap the Swap tab
- Select the token to swap from and to
- Enter the amount
- Review the rate and slippage
- Tap Swap and confirm
Swaps are executed on decentralized exchanges, so you always maintain custody of your assets.
Step 8: Staking in Trust Wallet
Earn passive rewards by staking directly in the app:
| Coin | Estimated APR | Lock Period |
|---|---|---|
| BNB | 2-5% | 7 days unbonding |
| Cosmos (ATOM) | 15-20% | 21 days unbonding |
| Solana (SOL) | 6-8% | ~2-3 days |
| Tron (TRX) | 4-6% | 14 days |
- Select the stakeable coin in your wallet
- Tap Stake or More > Stake
- Choose a validator
- Enter the amount to stake
- Confirm and start earning rewards
Using the DApp Browser
Trust Wallet's DApp browser lets you access DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and Web3 apps directly from your phone:
- Tap the DApps or Discover tab
- Browse popular DApps or enter a URL
- The DApp will request to connect — review and approve
- Interact with the DApp; Trust Wallet handles all transaction signing
Note: On iOS, Apple removed the built-in browser. Use WalletConnect instead to connect to DApps from your phone's regular browser.
Multi-Wallet Support
Trust Wallet lets you create or import multiple wallets:
- Tap Settings > Wallets
- Create a new wallet or import using seed phrase/private key
- Switch between wallets easily
- Useful for separating DeFi activities from long-term holdings
Security Best Practices
- Backup your recovery phrase and store it offline in multiple locations
- Enable transaction signing — require PIN for every transaction
- Lock app on exit — enable auto-lock in settings
- Keep your phone updated — OS security patches are critical
- Don't root/jailbreak your phone — breaks security model
- Be cautious with DApps — only use verified, reputable applications
- Regularly check token approvals — revoke unnecessary permissions
Sri Lanka Context

- It's the preferred wallet for many Sri Lankan crypto users due to its simplicity
