I grew up in Sri Lanka — a beautiful island with incredible potential, but a financial system that has repeatedly failed its people. Like most Sri Lankans, I trusted the system. I saved in rupees. I followed the conventional path. Then 2020 changed everything.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, stuck at home like the rest of the world, I stumbled upon Bitcoin. Not the speculative hype — the real thing. Sound money. A protocol that no government could inflate, no bank could freeze, and no border could stop. I fell down the rabbit hole, and I never came back up.

The 2022 economic crisis hit Sri Lanka like a tsunami. Fuel queues stretched for miles. Inflation spiralled. The rupee collapsed. People lost everything. But for those of us who held Bitcoin, there was a different story — our purchasing power was protected. That was my turning point.

I realized Sri Lanka had almost zero accessible, trustworthy Bitcoin education — especially in simple English that non-technical people could understand. So I started creating. First social media content, then articles, then a full website. I launched iamuvin.com, published "The Rise of Bitcoin" — a 180+ page guide — and attended Token 2049 Asia to represent our community globally.

Today, uvin.lk is the platform I wish existed when I started. Free, structured, and honest education — built for people like us. Every article, every module, every line of code on this site exists because I believe every Sri Lankan deserves to understand the most important monetary innovation of our lifetime.
